Martin Corrigan has been a Building and Design Consultant for the past 16 years, 12 of which he has spent with the ABN Group. Working with clients from concept to completion is second-nature to Martin, who has sold over 350 homes throughout his career.

Martin worked as a Building and Design Consultant for Dale Alcock Homes for 10 years, before making the move to ABN Group’s flagship premium brand, Webb & Brown-Neaves. “After reaching 10 years at Dale Alcock Homes it felt like a natural progression to move to Webb & Brown-Neaves,” he said.
Martin began his career in Sales Management, before deciding on a career change and studying architectural design and drafting. He credits his success as a Building and Design Consultant to his background in design.
“My design background allows me to come up with quick solutions on the spot for my clients, and really understand what they want in their new home. I offer alternative ideas and solutions to help optimise and refine every detail.”
Merging his passion for design with his experience in sales, Martin’s role with the ABN Group has been the perfect fit. “I’ve been able to combine my love of new home design with a passion for introducing people to the latest design trends from around the world.”
But his passion for design isn’t the only thing getting Martin wins. In sales, trust is key. “I’m very transparent with my clients so there’s no hidden costs or surprises. I enjoy getting to really know my clients and what they desire in their new home, and I take a genuine interest in the outcome.”
For Martin, the best part about being a Building and Design Consultant is the variety; no two days, or clients, are the same. “Every day is different and every client has different wants and needs. I love seeing my client’s dreams turn into a reality.”
One story that resonates with Martin is one of a first home-buyer turned repeat client. “I built Claire’s first home. She then got married and had two children, and returned to me to build their family home. When her Father was wanting to downsize, she recommended me, and I built his new home. Her husband was a photographer who took some beautiful photos of my son, Evan, as a thank you. It was such a lovely gesture.
Two years on from his first day at Webb & Brown-Neaves, Martin is loving his role and the WB team. “We have a great bunch of people working here and we all work together to give our clients the best experience.”
“As they say, the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination, and this is very true for home building.”
Martin’s six building tips for your next home: 1. Do your homework! Research is vital – you need to know exactly what you want in order to get exactly what you want. 2. Be sure to have a finalised budget which includes all factors, such as site costs, fencing, and landscaping. 3. Write yourself a wish list along with what you are prepared to compromise. 4. Start an inspiration folder of what you like – make use of Pinterest, Houzz, and houses for sale on Realestate.com. 5. Think about how you currently live when you’re considering your floorplan. It’s easy to get caught up in how amazing a display home is, but your design needs to work for you. 6. Think about what you like and don’t like about your current home. What features would you like to keep and what do you want to leave behind?
