Having been in the building industry since the age of seventeen, Michael has followed his passion for designing and building homes to Webb & Brown-Neaves, where he now works as a Building & Design Consultant.

Michael first worked on site as a tiler, which inspired him to pursue a long-term career in the Construction Industry.

“I started working on site with my Dad, as a wall and floor tiler, before going into drafting and design,” Michael said.

Michael’s passion for design is what led him to his current role at Webb & Brown-Neaves. “I worked in management as an Operations Manager, but found that my passion was always for design, and would find myself helping clients with their home design to get it right.”

When asked what influenced his desire to work for Webb & Brown-Neaves, Michael pointed out the company values. “Moving away from a small start-up builder, where customer service was the highest priority, I only wanted to align myself with a builder that had the same values and ‘customer-first philosophy,” he said.

“Webb & Brown-Neaves was the only builder I would have joined. The homes they deliver have always been a favourite, so it was always a dream to be a part of it.”

With his extensive experience in the construction industry, Michael has a valuable and versatile skillset across construction, design, drafting, client liaison and administration, allowing him to provide the best possible outcomes for his clients.

“I love being able to help clients decipher what lifestyle and home design truly want. I love that I can help with ideas that they may not have considered,” he said. “I am also able to offer peace of mind when discussing all options, as I have experience covering all aspects of the home building journey.”

“Designing and bringing my clients’ ideas and dreams to life is my absolute passion.”

One habit that makes Michael successful is his ability to relate to his clients. Having built his own home for his family, he has that personal experience that many other industry consultants may not have.

With a wife and three children, Michael is a family man, and values the time he is able to spend with his family. Working as a Building & Design Consultant for Webb & Brown-Neaves allows him to have that time.

“There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ day for a Building & Design Consultant,” he said. “I could be in display one day, the office the next, and then on site! This is a great aspect of the job as it allows me to be flexible with my time and I am able to spend quality time with my family.”

Michael’s top building tips:

1. Do your homework. I suggest trying to select a builder/consultant first. Select someone that you would feel comfortable working with throughout your building journey. 2. Find out what is important for you. Lifestyle, area, design, price, quality. This will help in the design process to ensure you get exactly what you want and need in a home. 3. Have some ideas of what you’re looking for. We can then turn those dreams into a reality!
