Beautiful Western Australia is home to some of the most stunning views and magnificent beaches. The state has also been known to be home to some of Australia’s most high-profile rich and famous, and these are the most expensive suburbs in the city of Perth.

1. Peppermint Grove
The median house price in Peppermint Grove currently sits at a whopping $3.6 million. If you’ve ever driven through this area, this won’t come as much of a shock. The suburb of Peppermint Grove, located directly opposite the suburb of Cottesloe, boasts beautiful, prestigious homes, and is home to some of Perth’s highest earners. More than 35% of these residents reported more than $3000 weekly income. If this looks a bit out of your price range, don’t worry, you can rent for the small price of $1200 per week!
2. Dalkeith
With a median house price of $2.6 million, this suburb is a sight to see. 1980’s entrepreneur Alan Bond’s former mansion is on the market for over $50 million, and if you’ve seen this mansion, the price won’t be a shock. Dalkeith boasts amazing views of the Swan River, and is home to some of Perth’s multi-millionaires.
3. Cottesloe
Cottesloe is the suburb directly opposite Peppermint Grove, which explains why it comes in third on this list. With Cottesloe beach being voted Perth’s favourite beach, it’s no wonder the median house price of the suburb is $2.2 million. And it keeps going up. With demand for beautiful beach-side family homes increasing, Cottesloe’s median house price has jumped from $2 million to $2.2million in only a few years.
4. City Beach and Swanbourne
City Beach and Swanbourne both have median house prices of $1.7 million. City Beach is just 10km from the Perth CBD, and features a stunning foreshore lined with cafes and restaurants. Swanbourne is the home to a few older houses, with many being heavily renovated in recent years.
5. Applecross
Applecross showcases a stunning view of the Perth CBD from across the Swan River, and is home to the infamous Raffles Hotel. With a population of over 6000, and the median weekly household income at $2095, Applecross is the 5th most expensive suburb in Perth, with a median house price of $1.65 million.
6. Nedlands
Located just out of the city, and not far from Kings Park, Nedlands boasta a median house price of $1.635 million, almost equal to that of Applecross. The suburb is located near the University of Western Australia, and features a mixture of low-budget housing for students, as well as multi-million dollar estates.
7. Mosman Park
With numerous beautiful parks and with views of the Indian Ocean and the Swan River, Mosman park features a median house price of $1.4 million. The suburb is said to be an education centre, featuring 6 schools. Located near Cottesloe and Dalkeith, its position on this list is no surprise.
8. Churchlands
Located near City Beach, the median price tag in Churchlands is $1.34 million. Home to the highly regarded Churchlands Senior High School, and located a short drive from the beach, Churchlands is the ideal suburb for a family with teens.
